Data

• Galaxies from LVDB tables dwarf_mw, dwarf_m31, dwarf_local_field, dwarf_local_field_distant, and the bright hosts in misc. The distant table (> 3 Mpc) is not complete.
• Milky Way placed at the Galactic centre, R₀ = 8.122 kpc. LG centre as in the LVDB code: midpoint of Sun and M31.
• Satellites with distance method host carry their host's distance.
• M★ from M_V with M/L_V = 2 (LVDB). M_dyn is the Wolf et al. (2010) mass within r½; M_dyn/L_V divides it by L_V/2.
• v_pec = v_LG − H₀ d_LG; H₀ is set under Layers.
• From the YAML files, not the combined catalog: B−V, V−I, v_rot, W50, τ₅₀, τ₉₀ (Gyr ago), discovery year, type, alternate names. B and V may come from different references.
• Imputed where the LVDB has no value, marked "imputed" in the inspector and listed in the CSV: log M★ of the MW (Licquia & Newman 2015) and M31 (Sick et al. 2015); v_GSR = 0 for the MW; for the bright hosts in misc, log M_HI (rescaled to the LVDB distance), v_rot,HI and W50 from the Updated Nearby Galaxy Catalog (Karachentsev et al. 2013).
• Hollow rings: upper limits. Faint ink: no value for the color variable. Dashed ring: no value for the size variable. Outer ring: galaxy named as host by at least one LVDB entry.
• Distance errors: where the catalog gives distance_em = distance_ep = 0 but a distance-modulus error exists, they are recomputed from (m−M)₀ ± error; otherwise shown as missing. Satellites with method host have no independent error.
• Measure: Δr is the 3D separation. R_proj = D sin θ, where D is the distance of the inspected galaxy.
